Tie the lower pound test side to your main line with a uni to uni knot. The smaller knot flows through the guides without hanging up. The heavier end you tie to your leaders and acts like a shock absorber when casting. When you cast you get into the smaller diameter line fast allowing for greater distance with less resistance.
